SUNDAY, AUGUST 13th — CHARLIE MARIE

$15 in advance or at the door. Outdoor show at 31 Centre Street, Bath, ME 04530. Seating provided, but BYO-Chair is welcomed. Doors at 6:30pm.

Charlie Marie makes classic country music for the modern world. It's a sound that bridges the gap between Nashville and her native Rhode Island — a blend of old-school traditions and fresh perspectives, fused together by a trailblazer who's been writing songs since her teenage years.

‘Ramble On’, Charlie Marie's full-length debut, shines a neon light on her updated brand of classic country. It's an album filled with everything that first endeared her to the genre itself, from honky tonk piano and twangy Telecaster guitar to rich storytelling, swooning pedal steel, and nuanced nods to her heroes. Recorded in Nashville with an all-star band whose members have performed with Margo Price, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, and other torchbearers of classic cool, ‘Ramble On’ cements Charlie's status as one of country music's newest old souls.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 25th — DR GASP

$12 in advance or at the door. *Indoor show* at 31 Centre Street, Bath, ME 04530. Seating provided. Doors at 6:30pm.

Do you distaste the flavor of wax lips? Throat sore from cackling like a phantom? Well... don’t lose your head! Haunting can be daunting... and to be Frank; a pain in the neck! This season leave all the ghoulishness to that maniacal minstrel... Doctor Gasp! Beneath the mask of this phantom is a New England folk musician Dan Blakeslee with his unique bag of all original songs of Halloween oozing with vampires and ghastly creeps. Blakeslee’s songs are a throwback to old-time cult horror themes, giving nods to Bobby Pickett (Monster Mash), Alfred Hitchcock, John Zacherle and the cavernous voice of Paul Frees. Each October the unexpected spectacle Doctor Gasp rises from the shadows delivering an earful of eerie for the young, old and immortal!

ABOUT DAN BLAKESLEE:

With a suitcase of songs, Maine folk troubadour Dan Blakeslee ventured into the subways of Boston in 1995 to practice his craft. He has been making music and art throughout New England ever since. Dan recently played the Newport Folk Festival, and has toured internationally with his own unique songs and style.

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 26th — THE CROSSWORD SHOW with ZACH SHERWIN

$20 in advance or at the door. *Indoor show* at 31 Centre Street, Bath, ME 04530. Seating provided. Doors at 6:30pm.

HOW THE SHOW WORKS:

Zach Sherwin ("Crazy Ex-Girlfriend," "Epic Rap Battles of History") hosts a panel of guest comedians as they solve an actual crossword puzzle live onstage, with everything displayed on a giant screen for the audience to follow along. Each time the solvers decipher a clue, Zach takes the show down a rabbit hole of comedy, music, wordplay, and/or trivia, all inspired by the answer words. You don't need any crossword expertise to be dazzled by this unique and joyful experience!

The Crossword Show was co-created and is co-produced by Zach Sherwin and Dominic Del Bene.
ABOUT ZACH:

ZACH SHERWIN is a Los Angeles-based comedian. His writing for the web series “Epic Rap Battles of History” has received numerous Emmy nominations and Streamy Awards, and the Epic Rap Battles in which he’s co-starred have amassed over half a billion YouTube views and an RIAA-certified Gold record. His own YouTube videos have been viewed many millions of times, and his other writing credits range from “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend” (The CW) to MAD Magazine. As a performer, Zach has appeared on “Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell” (FX) and “The Pete Holmes Show” (TBS), both long cancelled, as well as “America’s Got Talent” (NBC), which seems like it’s doing great. He is also the creator and host of The Crossword Show, in which a panel of comedians solves a crossword puzzle live onstage in front of an audience; in February 2022, he published his debut crossword puzzle in the New York Times.
