MEET STEVE

Founder and Co-Managing Member Pole Star Maritime, LLC since 1992. We are a global supplier of bespoke shipboard outfitting solutions. We deliver accommodation systems, marine furniture, ships windows, fire doors and acoustical treatments to commercial marine, military and offshore vessels.

I started in this business by accident, literally. I experienced a collision with a tanker while sailing in a 120ft schooner headed south in 1979. After 6 weeks of dockside repairs, I became an apprentice to 2 Danish yacht builders in Stamford CT. We built and serviced offshore sail racing and cruising yachts throughout the 80s, 90s & 00s. Worked in wood, aluminum, advanced composites. High-end interior joinery was my focus. I never looked back.

Passions + Hobbies

Being in love with my wife, my family and life in Maine. I'm passionate about quality and creativity. Woodworking and Food are favorite mediums to work in. Mentoring youth is a continuum. Of course I love to sail, I still ski the greens and blues. Travel wherever / whenever possible. Jazz music, art and political theatre keep the boredom at bay.

Fun Fact about You: Married to my high school sweetie and business partner Ann Gold.
