MEET HANNAH
I am a licensed Architect in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island with my own company, Due North Architecture.
What I do is listen to people's ideas and goals for the future they are envisioning. From these foundational discussions, I create plans for spaces that will allow people to live these ideals in the physical form. I expand on this to provide everything for permitting and construction and everything in between. In essence I guide you to a thoughtful, functional solution that will result in your vision being brought to life.
I previously worked at a large firm in Boston but was feeling pigeon-holed and creatively unsatiated. So I quit, moved to Maine, and went out on my own. It has turned out to be one of the best decisions I have ever made. My clients have been amazing and fulfilling to collaborate with. I am doing projects that resonate more personally with me and am also provided more opportunities to learn and grow in areas I’d never have been able to prior to being on my own.
How did you get started?
I was drawing floor plans and renovations of my neighbors houses in sidewalk chalk as a kid while my friends were playing with dolls. I liked dolls too, but not more than drawing.
I went to the architecture program at the University of Illinois and then grad school at Boston Architectural College for my masters degree.
Passions + Hobbies
I like to be outside. Be it running, hiking, camping or building with my fiancé one of our endless list of projects.
Fun Fact about You: I have run over ten marathons.
Why do you use Union + Co?
Community. My work can be a lot of lonely hours and I relish having other self motivated hustlers of all kinds right out my door.
