MEET ERIC

I help employees become entrepreneurs, business founders to get more revenue through sales funnels and online communities and I coach leaders who are stuck and want to rebuild their life around grit and resilience.

I've been doing this since 2015 - 10 years.

In early 2014, I lost my 15-year old daughter Zoi to suicide and almost immediately I was asked by her friends "What do we do with this?" I mentored these kids and realized I wanted to help adults through grief as well. And so, in 2015 I pursued a path of speaking from the stage, becoming an author and coaching. After 25-years in Corporate IT, in late 2017, I left to coach, speak and train full time on the topic of grief recovery. During this time I spoke on a TEDx Stage and self-published an Amazon bestselling book "A Sherpa Named Zoi."

However, being a new solopreneur at the time came with a lot of struggle because, I was not clear on what I wanted for my life other than to be out of corporate America. And so for the next couple of years, I continued to invest hundreds of thousands with top-tier coaches and mentors to gain that clarity.

While I was reluctant to step back into Corporate America, in early 2019 I was asked to become a Chief of Staff for one my coaches, Scott Mann (author and speaker). Since he was running a business similar to the one I wanted to grow, which he encouraged me to do for myself too. Here's the reality of that arrangement: when you're working full time and building someone else's dream, it leaves little time (and energy) for you to build yours as well.

In late 2022, I was laid off for the last time. As I was driving to a secluded beach along Tampa's west coast, I swore I would never trade my time for money ever again. That's the day "The Grit Guy" was born and I made the shift from focusing primarily on Grief recovery to helping employees become entrepreneurs. To go from Dream Carriers to Dream Builders and live life on their terms.

Since then, I'm still coaching and mentoring those through grief recovery, I've stood on the TEDx stage again, become certified in several areas including: Trauma recovery, Breathwork, Leadership and Funnel Building.

I am grateful that I get to help others build their dreams no matter the challenges they face in life.

Passions + Hobbies

Formula 1, Coastal Maine hikes, lifting weights, stealth camping in my Jeep around the state.

Fun Fact about You: I was the very first success story for the popular workout routine - P90X back in August of 2004.

Why do you use Union + Co?

The work I can easily be done from home, but I would rather connect with members of the community especially in the area that I grew up (Brunswick). It's good to be back in Maine and meeting new people - hopefully even more mentor.
